At Los Encajeros we love white sheets.
They are stylish and welcoming, turning your bed into a freshness place of peace and calm.
We make our sheets with 600 threads high quality egyptian cotton and we want to give you some easy tricks for maintaining their original colour over the years.
You donĀ“t have to be afraid of having white sheets.
Its aesthetic worths it and these recommendations will help to keep your bed linens white and bright.
- Washing your bed sheets about once a week ensures they always stay clean and fresh.
- Pretreat stains. Most stains on sheets can be removed by dabbing the area with a small amount of a laundry detergent and working it into the fabric with your fingers. We recommend our stain remover stick which is ideal for it.
- DonĀ“t overload the washer. When a washer is overloaded, there isnĀ“t enough space for the water to saturate the fabric surfaces and flush away the soil.
- Separate by colors. Do not mix your white sheets with dark linens. They can dull or bleed onto lighter colours.
- Make sure not to use too much detergent. Excessive detergent may leave a residue on the sheets, making them look dingy and even attracting more dirt. It can cause skin allergies too.
- Do not use fabric softeners. They will leave residue in fibers that can cause white sheets to look greyish.
- Wash your sheets with hot water. Cotton tolerates it and hotter water kills the most germs and removes dust.
- If possible, dry your washed white sheets outside in the sun. The sunĀ“s ultraviolet rays have a bleeching effect, helping to keep your white sheets white.
- If you use a dryer, do it a low temperature. It will extend the life of your sheets.
- Before ironing, check that there are no stains. You never have to iron them, otherwise will be harder to remove them later.
We recommend using our laundry soap made from 100% natural ingredients and formulated with organic virgin olive oil, that helps removing germs and dust and provides a mild fragance to linens.
If you follow these guidelines, your sheets will keep their original appearance for more time and will look as white as the first day.
Night, night!
