Guide for the Care and Maintenance of Your Bed and Table Linens

Washing
Proper washing is the first step to keeping your textiles in perfect condition. Always separate items by color and fabric type before washing. Use mild detergents and adjust the temperature based on the material’s needs: cold water for delicate fabrics like silk and wool, and warm or hot water for more durable materials like cotton and linen. Avoid using excessive detergent, as residue can harden the fibers. For tablecloths or sheets with very delicate details, use mesh laundry bags or hand wash them to minimize wear.

Drying
Proper drying is essential to extend the lifespan of your sheets, tablecloths, and napkins. Whenever possible, air drying is recommended. If using a dryer, choose a low-temperature cycle and remove items while they are slightly damp to hang them for natural drying or to iron them directly.

Fabric Softeners
To preserve the natural texture and durability of fabrics, avoid using fabric softeners. Over time, these materials naturally become softer.

Careful Ironing
For safe and effective ironing:

  • If possible, use distilled water in your iron to prevent mineral buildup.
  • Iron items when they are slightly damp, as this makes the process easier and reduces the risk of damaging the fibers.
  • For embroidered or delicate details, always iron on the reverse side and use a soft towel as support to avoid flattening the texture.

With these care tips, your sheets and table linens will remain in excellent condition for a long time.
